Its manufacturer touts it as a product that’ll “make anyone useless – anytime, anywhere.” And Japanese Twitter users seem to agree, with some even making fan art of the new product.
The product, Hanalolo from Takiko Sewing, is a wearable beanbag (着るビーズクッション; kiru biizu kusshon). Designed in three sizes, its wearer can plop down anywhere and have a place to rest their head.
Their Rakuten listing for the item shows a model using the cushion in multiple positions, including face-down (for smartphone perusing) and face-up (for general lounging and sleeping). You can even take off the cushion-dress and lie on it like a regular beanbag.
The cushion retails for ¥15,800, or approximately USD $122 at today’s exchange rate.

Takiko Sewing told LiveDoor news they started selling the new outfit at the top of January. However, they sold 0 units until it went viral on social media after a large account specializing in anime merchandise shared it.

Since then, they’ve sold about 30. That might not seem like a lot. But company spokesperson Takigawa Shogo says he’s impressed that they’ve sold any.
Some Twitter users are so enthralled by the cushion, in fact, that they’ve composed fan art in its honor.

No word whether the company plans to fit a heater into this and make it into a wearable kotatsu. Which would probably ensure that no one left their house, ever.
